Starpointe Communities sponsors innagural Happy Hound costume contest to benefit the Arizona Animal Welfare League

(Scottsdale, AZ – October 29, 2008) Scottsdale-based Starpointe Communities in conjunction with the Arizona Animal Welfare League held their 1st annual Happy Hound Costume Contest October 25, with great success! The event took place at 10-acre Registry Park at Artesia, located at 7293 N. Scottsdale Road (North of Indian Bend). Over 600 pounds of dog food and treats was donated, all benefitting the Arizona Animal Welfare League.

As a developer, Starpointe Communities is aware of the problems the local real estate market has wreaked on the valley. The large number of local housing foreclosures has forced many families to move into smaller homes or apartments, requiring them to bring their dogs to shelters in hopes of having them adopted by other families. Because of this increase, shelters have seen an increase in the need for food.

“Starpointe Communities is dedicated to do whatever we can to help the Arizona Animal Welfare League provide for the pets that are so important in our lives. We are proud to report the success of the Happy Hound event, and can’t wait to build on it next year,” said Rob Lyles, Starpointe Partner. The winner, Princess, dressed in a princess costume complete with a tiara, took home a Nintendo Wii.

Starpointe Communities has been a fixture in the Phoenix real estate market for more than 10 years, and has set the standard for innovation, quality, location, and lifestyle in condo living. For more information on Starpointe Communities, please visit www.starpointecommunities.net.
