Starpointe's Development Artesia Receives Zoning Approval

Scottsdale, AZ—Starpointe Communities proposed development, Artesia received Scottsdale City Council zoning approval last night.

The Scottsdale based condominium developer plans for a mix use project with retail, commercial and residential components at the now closed 44-acre Radisson Resort & Spa just north of Scottsdale Road and Indian Bend at 7171 N. Scottsdale Rd.

Starpointe purchased the Radisson in June 2004 and closed down the resort in Spring 2005.

The new development, Artesia, will have 480 condominium homes plus 22,000 square feet of commercial retail space along Scottsdale Rd. The 480 units will be a combination of four- story buildings with one story condominium homes in the interior of the property, townhouse style homes along the perimeter and live/work homes in the transition area between the retail and residential.

"We are excited to see this project move forward," says Robert Lyles, Partner at Starpointe. "Artesia is going to be a great addition to Scottsdale."

Plans have not been released on the front retail commercial components, but Starpointe promises that—"it's going to be a signature piece for the area, something totally unique to Scottsdale," says Lyles.

Starpointe plans to begin releasing more details on Artesia in early 2006.

The process continues next with City design review and then Starpointe can begin submitting construction drawings and acquiring building permits.

Demolition of the resort is scheduled for middle of next year with construction immediately following. Sales for the residential homes are expected to begin in Fall 2006.

Starpointe is the largest condominium developer in Arizona with a nine year history of providing exceptional value and quality to homeowners throughout the valley.
