Starpointe Acquires Holiday Inn Sunspree; Plans Upscale Condos
Scottsdale, AZ—Starpointe Communities closed today on the 16 acre property that formerly operated as the Holiday Inn Sunspree Resort Scottsdale. Located between Scottsdale and Hayden Roads at 7601 E. Indian Bend Rd., the land will be used to build a luxury condominium community called Corriente.
This private gated community will consist of 192 homes in 8 three-story buildings. Corriente's five expansive floor plans will range in size from 1,000 to 1,550 square feet in one, two and three bedroom options. Homes will feature open floor plan designs with impressive 9' ceilings, oversized windows and balconies, fireplaces and granite kitchen counters. All parking will be underground with elevator access to each building.
Set in a tranquil desert landscape with fountains, outdoor barbecues and ramadas, Corriente will offer full resort - style amenities including a designer clubhouse, pool, spa, and state-of-the-art fitness center.
Corriente's hallmark feature is the spectacular golf course and mountain views. Depending on the location of the home, homeowners will enjoy views of Silverado Golf Course, McCormick Ranch Golf Course, McDowell Mountains and Camelback Mountain.
Starpointe plans to raze the old Holiday Inn Sunspree building and begin construction in Mid 2005. Sales are expected to commence fall 2005 with prices ranging from the $200's to the $400's.
The anticipation over Corriente is already high. "Sales are not planned to start until fall of next year, and we already have hundreds on our VIP list," says Robert A. Lyles, Partner at Starpointe Communities, "The interest in this community has been overwhelming."
This acquisition follows Starpointe's June closing on the nearby 44 acre Scottsdale Radisson Resort & Spa. Starpointe has developed two other communities in the vicinity- Traviata, just north of Indian Bend Rd. on Scottsdale Rd., and Sienna, directly west of the Holiday Inn Sunspree property. Both communities are sold out.
Scottsdale based Starpointe Communities is Arizona's largest condominium developer with a seven year history of providing exceptional value and quality to homeowners throughout the valley.
